Telephone Friends is Matthew Wright, Tyson Motsenbocker, Aaron Redfield, John Van Deusen, and Patrick Dodd – touring and studio veterans who came together to record their debut and self-titled album during Covid lockdown at San Diego's Singing Serpent Studios, live off the floor to two-inch tape. Telephone Friends is a raucous, tumbling collection of songs that exude joy and possibility under the weight of a new and enormous uncertainty – songs that represent something bigger than the sum of its parts. Telephone Friends were born on the road and then back home again, saturated in the weight of those things and the possibility that the future can be better than the past.
