Capturing every chart hit The Mamas & the Papas had scored up to that moment, Farewell to the First Golden Era arrived in October 1967 with a title that felt almost prophetic-hinting at both an ending and a lasting legacy. This collection brings together some of their most iconic tracks, including the gold-certified No. 1 "Monday, Monday," the gold-selling Top Ten "California Dreamin'," and fan favorites like "I Saw Her Again Last Night," "Words of Love," and "Dedicated to the One I Love," and "Creeque Alley." Though the band would reunited briefly in 191 to record People Like Us, this release stands as a defining snapshot of their golden years.
