3D Country is where Geese dramatically expand beyond the jagged post-punk of Projector. Released in 2023, the album mixes art rock, psychedelic rock, country, blues, funk, gospel, and classic rock, creating something deliberately strange, theatrical, and difficult to pin down.

The album has a loose psychedelic Western concept: vocalist Cameron Winter inhabits the perspective of an uptight, disoriented cowboy wandering through a desert after taking psychedelics, as his sense of identity and reality begin to unravel. Beneath the absurdity is a darker anxiety about climate change, mortality, spirituality, and a world seemingly coming apart.

Musically, it's remarkably unpredictable. “2122” explodes from classic-rock guitar into chaotic, almost psychedelic territory; “3D Country” combines country imagery with gospel vocals and a huge, swaggering rock arrangement; while “Cowboy Nudes” and “I See Myself” lean into funkier, more melodic grooves. Winter's vocals constantly change character, moving from crooning and falsetto to exaggerated baritone and frantic screams.

What makes the record particularly compelling is its sense of humor and theatricality. Geese aren't simply reviving Americana—they're twisting its clichés into something surreal and slightly apocalyptic. The cheerful, often fun surface contrasts with an underlying feeling that civilization, nature, and the self are all slowly coming undone.

In short: 3D Country sounds like a psychedelic cowboy movie directed by a post-punk band—weird, funny, bombastic, groovy, and occasionally unsettling. It's a major leap from Projector, replacing that album's anxious New York guitar music with a much more expansive and eccentric vision.
