Coming off the raw aggression of Shout at the Devil, the band pivoted toward a slicker, more glam-oriented sound. The riffs are simpler, the choruses bigger, the production shinier. It’s less street-fight metal and more Sunset Strip spectacle—built for MTV, lighters in the air, and stadium singalongs.

But context matters. The album arrived shortly after the tragic death of former Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle in a car crash involving Vince Neil. That weight hangs over the record, especially on its most enduring moment.
