Ghost - Skeleta
Ghost’s sixth full-length studio album, SKELETÁ, was unleashed on April 25, 2025, via Loma Vista Recordings. Produced by Tobias Forge, this release marks a bold, introspective turn in the band's discography.
With SKELETÁ, Tobias Forge introduces a new persona—Papa V Perpetua—an evolution from previous frontman characters. This shift marks the album as a pivotal, personal chapter, exploring themes of identity, faith, failure, and guilt. Fans and critics alike describe it as Ghost’s most emotionally direct and introspective work to date.
Musically, SKELETÁ thrives at the intersection of hard rock, arena rock, pop rock, and glam metal. Yet beneath the big hooks and stadium-ready sound lies a lyrically intimate core: the album unfolds as a one-on-one dialogue, exploring emotional landscapes with unflinching honesty.
SKELETÁ debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200, a monumental milestone for Ghost—and a rare feat for a Swedish rock act, the first in decades since Ace of Base’s The Sign in 1993. The album’s success was largely fueled by robust physical sales, especially vinyl.
